The Workshop on Investment Promotion and Facilitation (Lower Myanmar) was held at Chatrium Hotel, Yangon on 16th May 2019 with the collaboration of the Myanmar Investment Commission, the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, the Department for International Development (DFID) and DaNa Facility. The workshop will continue to 17th May 2019.
The workshop was convened to raise awareness in the State and Regional Investment Committees on policies and strategies for the promotion and facilitation of foreign and local investment.
It was attended by 77 participants including Chief Ministers, Ministers and Members from the State and Regional Investment Committees, the officials from the DICA, representatives from the Department for International Development (DFID), DaNa Facility, the Asia Foundation, United Nations Capital Development Fund and Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business.
At the workshop, H.E. U Han Htun, Yangon Regional Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry and Energy, U Aung Naing Oo, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and Ms. Jenni Hall, Private Sector Development Lead for UK aid in Myanmar delivered the opening remarks respectively.
After that, members of State and Regional Investment Committees, the representatives from the Department for International Development (DFID), DaNa Facility and the Asia Foundation discussed the matters related to the Investment Promotion and Facilitation.
The Workshop was concluded at 5:00 pm.
