The Myanmar Korea Investment Forum focusing on Infrastructure and Energy jointly organized by Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) and ASEAN-Korea Centre was conducted at 9:00 am on 14 January 2016 at Novotel Yangon Max Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar. The opening ceremony of Myanmar-Korea Investment Forum was attended by a total of (100) participants notably His Excellency Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Myanmar, His Excellency Secretary-General of ASEAN-Korea Centre, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development, and Director General of Directorate of Investment and Company Administration and Secretary of Myanmar Investment Commission. Moreover, representatives from Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Electric Power, Ministry of Railway Transportation, Myanmar business executives and Korean business executives also joined to the forum respectively.
U Aung Naing Oo, Director General of Directorate of Investment and Company Administration and Secretary of Myanmar Investment Commission delivered the Opening Remarks. H.E Lee Baek-soon, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Myanmar delivered the Welcoming Remarks. In addition, H.E Kim Young-Sun, Secretary-General of ASEAN-Korea Centre and U Tun Tun Naing, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development delivered Congratulatory Remarks at the forum. After that, representatives from Myanmar officials presented about business opportunities in Myanmar.
In the afternoon session, One-On-One Business Meeting conducted and warmly discussed about business environment in Myanmar. The forum was successfully concluded at 5:00 pm.
