Under the guidance of the Shan State Investment Committee, a roundtable discussion was held on 20th September 2022, at the Southern Shan State Chamber of Commerce and Industry Office, with the aim to expand oil crops cultivation and increase production in Shan State.
At the event, Dr. Kyaw Tun, chairman of the Shan State Investment Committee, delivered an opening speech. After that, the Director of DICA Shan State branch office gave the presentation on investment opportunities according to the Myanmar Investment Law. Then, the Deputy Director of Department of Agriculture presented the conditions of oilseed cultivation in Shan State, followed by the presentation of Director of Department of Rural Development on the list of projects to be carried out in the villages where oil crops (sunflower) will be planted.
Otherwise, all the attendees discussed the difficulties and gave the suggestion in order to increase oil seed cultivation and production.
