The 35th meeting of the Working Group on International Investment Statistics (35th WGIIS) organized by ASEAN Secretariat Office was held a Video Conference today at 8:30 am on July 27th, 2021. On behalf of Myanmar represented by U Kyaw Win Tun, Director of Planning and Statistics Division, and officials concerned were present from Yangon Head office of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration and also attend the official from the Foreign Exchange Management Division under the Central Bank of Myanmar. Altogether 45 person of the representatives of the ASEAN Member States and officials from the ASEAN Secretariat have also attended the meeting from their respective countries. The matters related to the Foreign Direct Investment Statistics, the WGIIS Work Plan (2016-2025), the implementation of the ASEAN-Help-ASEAN Framework, and the current development of FDIS in ASEAN member states were discussed in the meeting. Myanmar will be enabled to improve the current compilation process of Inward FDIS based on the experience of the co-members and to initiate the compilation of Outward FDIS from the technical assistance of ASEAN to the Central Bank of Myanmar in order to facilitate and support to the policy makers.
