U Thant Sin Lwin, Director General of Directorate of Investment and Company Administrationgave opening remarks at the Press Conference for Beneficial Ownership Disclosure for implementation of Myanmar Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative was held on 28th February 2020 at the CBC Ballroom, Yangon.
Beneficial Ownership Disclosure for implementation of Myanmar Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative was being underway in accord with the Notification No. 104/2019 dated 2nd October 2019 issued by the President Office of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar for Relevant Departments/Organisations, and Companies and Economic OrganizationsRegistered under Myanmar Companies Act to cooperate with the Directorate ofInvestment and Company Administration (DICA) for Timely Implementation of theBeneficial Ownership (BO) Disclosure Process in line with the Requirement 2.5 of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Standard 2019.
Directorate of Investment and Company Administration participated in this process as Focal Agency for Beneficial Ownership Task Force.
DICA representatives and members from Beneficial Ownership Task Force presented the panel discussion for Myanmar EITI-Beneficial Ownership Disclosure process during the aforesaid events.
National Coordinator of MEITI Secretariat, Members of MEITI multi-stakeholders Group-MSG, members of Beneficial Ownership Task Force, Representatives from relevant Government Agencies, Representatives from relevant Civil Society Organizations-CSOs, Representatives from Development Partners, Representatives from Disclosed Companies, Observers and MediaCorrespondents, total of more than 150 personals attended this press conference.
