The Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr Kan Zaw attended the ninth Global Business Summit (GBS) on 15-16 February in New Delhi, India, at the invitation of the Times Group of India.The GBS aims to provide solutions to key economic challenges and opportunities, explore sustainable economic growth and improve technologies and digitalization.In the first-day meeting, the Union minister participated as a panelist in the “Global Cooperation in a Polarized World” discussion together with the Economic and Industrial minister and the deputy minister of Albania and Sri Lanka.The Union minister discussed the current global economic status, potential economic policies to be changed, investment promotion measures of Myanmar and invitation to investors to the country.In the evening, the Union minister-led delegation attended the ceremony where Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed the economic strategies of India, greeted the attendees and joined the dinner event.The Myanmar delegation also attended the second-day session of the summit.During the discussion, international experts, well-known persons and world business leaders actively discussed the emergence of industry 5.0 agenda through the survival during the global economic crisis, global financial policy changes, energy security and future job opportunities.The two-day summit was attended by the Indian Prime Minister, cabinet members, international representatives, policymakers, and industry pioneers, representatives from over 20 countries, totalling more than 2,000 participants.The Myanmar delegation arrived back in Yangon yesterday afternoon.

POSTED ON 06 Feb 2025The Shan State Investment Committee held its (1/2025) meeting on 31st January 2025 at the conference hall of the Shan State Government Office. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Shan State Investment Committee, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, along with committee members.Then, the committee has approved transferring of shares for Hi Avocado Company Limited at the meeting.The Shan State Investment Committee has approved seven foreign investment projects with a total investment of USD 16.163 million and eighteen Myanmar investment projects with a total investment of MMK 46,216.301 million, including USD 7.592 million. These investments have contributed to job creation in Shan State, providing employment opportunities for 1,513 local people and 68 foreigners.SSIC-1-1Download
