U Thant Sin Lwin, Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration under the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations attended the 20th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and related meetings held on 16th-19th September 2023 at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China.
On 16th September 2023, Director General attended the Mandalay Region Trade, Investment and Tourism Promotion Conference. At the Conference, H.E. U Aung Naing Oo, Union Minister for Commerce, U Kyaw Hsan, Mayor of the Mandalay City Development Committee and U Thein Htay, Minister of Economic Affairs, Mandalay Region Government gave the opening remarks. It was attended by representatives from relevant government departments and private sectors from Myanmar side and Vice Chairman of Political Consultative Conference of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and responsible persons and private sectors from China side.
On the same day, Director General also attended the 20th CAEXPO Roundtable Meeting on Investment Cooperation Programme that is based on the theme of enhancing China-ASEAN Cooperation on Green Low-carbon and Digital Economy. At the session of giving remarks by heads of Investment Promotion Agencies of 10 ASEAN countries and ASEAN Secretariat, he delivered the remarks related with the country’s latest investment policies, potential investment sectors associated with business opportunities. Then, the session of releasing the business opportunities outlook of the China-ASEAN FTA 3.0, and sharing the experiences from the Chinese enterprises investing abroad. The meeting was attended by a total of 100 delegates who are from investment promotion authorities of 10 ASEAN Member States and ASEAN Secretariat, investment officials of ASEAN countries based in China, delegates of the Department of Asian Affairs and investment promotion agency of Ministry of Commerce of China and Chinese entrepreneurs. Director General also attended the 20th Anniversary Celebration Gala Dinner with the other heads of delegations from the ASEAN member countries.
On 17th September 2023, Director General attended the Opening Ceremony of the 20th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the 20th China-ASEAN Business and Investment Submit (CABIS) and then, he pursued to join the China-ASEAN Expo Thematic Side Event: “Institutional Opening-up for New Regional Economic Growth”.
On 18th September 2023, Director General paid visits to the booths displayed by Myanmar, ASEAN and China. Then, Director General continued to attend the Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) of the 20th CAEXPO. At the meeting, Director General involved in the exchange view with the delegates from ASEAN member countries and responsible officials from Chinese side. After that, Director General also attended the Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) Banquet.
On 19th September 2023, Director General and representatives from ASEAN Member States made the survey tour to Guangxi Aige Gongfang Home Furnishing Co., Ltd, China-ASEAN Information Harbor Co., Ltd. (CAIH) and “Night of Nanning” Commercial District.
