STAKEHOLDER MEETING HELD IN KAYIN STATE

The new Myanmar Investment Law (MIL) was outlined to a large group of stakeholders in Kayin State on 24 February 2017 at 10:00 am.

 The Chairman of the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) and Union Minister for the Ministry of Planning and Finance, H.E U Kyaw Win, gave the opening address to the 100 stakeholders in the audience that included a delegation led by the Union Minister, Government officials and businessmen from Kayin State at Zwekabin Hall in Hpa-An City.

 Union Minister for the Ministry of Planning and Finance, and the Director Generals of the Internal Revenue Department, explained issues relating to their taxation.

  The Secretary of the MIC and Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, U Aung Naing Oo, described the new Myanmar Investment Law and explained how taxation and customs duty exemptions and relief can assist investors.

 U Aung Naing Oo also gave information to the stakeholders on the upcoming implementation of the Myanmar Investment Law.

 The meeting concluded at 12:15 pm.
