Workshop on “Policy Action to Promote and Enable Responsible Business Conduct”

The workshop on “Policy Action to Promote and Enable Responsible Business Conduct” was held at the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, Yangon on 18th March 2019 in collaboration with the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The objective of the workshop is to promote the responsible business and to share the ways that governments in Southeast Asia and around the world and to engage the private sector and to share mutual experience on responsible business.

At the workshop, U Aung Naing Oo, Director General of DICA delivered opening remarks.After that, the presentation from OECD continued with the topics on“Promoting and Enabling Responsible Business Conduct”by Ms. Tihana Blue and “Experience form Southeast Asia/OECD countries” by Mr. Pierre-Andre’ Cordey. And then, the ways of engaging the government and the private sector and the challenges faced in promoting the responsible business were discussed.

It was attended by 60 participants including experts from the OECD, representatives from, relevant ministries,officials from DICA and UMFCCI.
