According to the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indian Chamber of Commerce, U Aung Naing Oo, Union Minister for the Ministry of Commerce, attended the BIMSTEC Business Conclave in Kolkata as the guest of honor and delivered a speech.

The Union Minister discussed the current conditions of trade and investment between Myanmar and BIMSTEC member countries and the prospects for further expansion and recommendations were made about the next steps.

The Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, the chairman and representatives of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the chairman and representatives of Myanmar Pulses Beans and Sesame Association are present.

At the BIMSTEC Investment Forum held in the afternoon, the Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, Mr. U Thant Sin Lwin, discussed as a panelist under the topic of investment challenges and opportunities.

Along with the Union Minister, the president of Indian Chamber of Commerce, the Minister for Industry and Commerce of the Government of West Bengal, the Minister for Industry of Bangladesh, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supplies of Nepal, the Minister for Industry of Sri Lanka, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, the secretary for Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment, the Vice President of the India Chamber of Commerce and the invited representatives from the member countries of BIMSTEC were present.
