The new Myanmar Investment Law (MIL) was outlined to a large group of stakeholders in Mon State on 23 February 2017.
The Chairman of the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) and Union Minister for the Ministry of Planning and Finance, H.E U Kyaw Win, gave the opening address to the 110 stakeholders in the audience that included a delegation led by the Union Minister, Government officials and businessmen from Mon State.
The Secretary of the MIC and Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, U Aung Naing Oo, described the new Myanmar Investment Law and explained how taxation and customs duty exemptions and relief can assist investors.
U Aung Naing Oo also gave information to the stakeholders on the upcoming implementation of the Myanmar Investment Law.
The Director Generals of the Internal Revenue Department, Custom Department and Planning Department respectively, and the Secretary of the Mon State Government, explained issues relating to their areas.
The meeting, which was held at the Aung San Hall in the Mon State Government Office, concluded at 11:45am.
