WORKSHOP ON “APPROACHES TO RESOLVING INVESTOR-STATE DISPUTES AND GRIEVANCES: THE ROLE OF INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR SETTLEMENT OF INVESTMENT DISPUTES (ICSID)”

        With the assistance of the International Finance Cooperation (IFC), Workshop on “Approaches to Resolving Investor-State Disputes and Grievances: The Role of ICSID” was held at Hilton Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on 22nd November, 2016. 

          The Workshop was attended by officials altogether 50 persons from Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Health and Sports, Supreme Court of the Union, Union Attorney General’s Office, Central Bank of Myanmar, Directorate of Investment and Company Administration and experts from World Bank Group and ICSID.

          At the workshop, Dr. Than Myint, Union Minister for Ministry of Commerce, Vice Chairman of Myanmar Investment Commission and            Mr. Charles Schneider, Senior Private Sector Specialist of the World Bank Group delivered the opening remarks respectively. Then, the experts from  World Bank Group and  ICSID  presented the related topics and the workshop was concluded at 12:30 p.m.
