MINISTER ENCOURAGES REGIONAL BUSINESSES IN MAGWAY

The private sector plays a key role in developing Myanmar’s economy and the Union and State governments stand ready to help companies achieve that goal, the Chairman of he Myanmar Investment Commission and Union Minister for Planning and Finance, HE U Kyaw Win, told a meeting in Magway this week.

           The Union Minister and the Magway Regional Prime Minister, Dr Aung Moe Nyo, met with regional businessmen from all sectors of the economy at Magway’s City Hall on 30 May 2017. Representatives of the Magway Regional Government, Regional Hluttaw delegates, and relevant department officials also attended the meeting.

U Kyaw Win told the meeting that “the private sector plays the key role in developing Myanmar’s economy”.

          “Myanmar is facing many challenges but we have recognised them and we are trying to overcome  them,” the Union Minister said.

          The Union Minister said the Government is encouraging development in all sectors of the economy and he outlined the Government’s economic plan and its implementation.

          At the meeting, U Kyaw Win said the Magway Region was strategically located with strengths and opportunities, like the availabiity of land and labour, from which regional businesses could benefit.

          He said the Government would try to support business as much as it could and encouraged companies to cooperate with the Government to create the economic environment required for economic growth and commercial success.

          U Than Aung Kyaw, the Deputy Director General (Supervision) of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, also attended the meeting and discussed  company administration and investment opportunities with the audience.
